Flooding at Zion's Refuge Headquarters, Queretaro, Mexico
Life's currents ebb and flow, influencing the depths of human experiences. A mere trickle can transform into a relentless surge. In biblical terms, when adversity floods in, the Spirit of God raises a standard against it. This truth resonates with the journey of Zions Refuge as a community. We have faced both personal and collective storms, navigating through turbulent tides.

Before an unforeseen turn of events unfolded upon our return home, we gathered in downtown Queretaro for an evening of joy and fellowship, relishing in traditional tacos and pizza. However, a storm approached, gradually intensifying into a torrential downpour. Thunder roared, and lightning illuminated the sky. Amidst the task of cleaning strawberries from the local market, a piercing scream echoed through the house. Although I couldn't pinpoint its origin, it was Pastor's wife, urgently calling for her husband.
Soon, it became clear that the stormwater had breached the lower level of the house. Startled from her slumber by the sound of rushing water, she found herself disoriented and momentarily frozen. In disbelief, we all hurried downstairs. While Pastor was internally taken aback, he remained composed, guided by the Holy Spirit. We quickly grabbed our phones to document the unfolding event. After managing the flooding, we paused to reflect on this recent occurrence, recognizing that every situation holds valuable lessons.
How can we, as followers of Yah (God), truly prepare ourselves for the return of our Messiah if we are not shaken from our comfort zones? We cannot anticipate what lies around the corner or the storms that may loom ahead. However, as believers, we do know that we have not been given a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and a sound mind. We must be prepared physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually when the floods of life surge in.

As ambassadors of Christ, we must exemplify excellence for others: displaying resilience in the face of pressure, persevering through challenges, and remaining unaffected by outward circumstances that test our faith, whether big or small. Let us not forget the source of our help: expressing gratitude for His grace, mercy, and protection, honoring Him through our lifestyle and obedience to His commandments, and placing unwavering trust in His guidance. He is always speaking to us. Are we listening?
We must embrace the unexpected, for it is through these moments that our character is refined and our faith strengthened. Let us stand firm, rooted in the certainty that our God is with us in every storm, leading us to a place of victory and transformation. With open hearts and attentive ears, we shall discern His voice and follow His path. Expect the unexpected, for therein lies the opportunity for growth and divine intervention.
