December 25th, 2024: A Landmark Day for Zion’s Refuge
The Zion’s Refuge family experienced a monumental moment as Pastor Cherry and his wife finally stepped foot onto the blessed 60+ acres in Northern Arizona! This milestone marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey toward building a community rooted in faith, sustainability, and preparation for Yah’s plan.

Just a day prior, on December 24th, while brainstorming for a fitting name for their YouTube channel, Pastor Cherry felt drawn to "Northern Arizona Wilderness Adventures" (N.A.W.A.). Seeking input from the community, his wife mentioned how the name carried a beautiful, tribal Hebraic tone. A quick search of the word’s meaning confirmed Yah’s hand in the process. N.A.W.A. translates to a dwelling or habitation, and it also means to beautify—a perfect reflection of the mission ahead. The clarity and confirmation in this small task reminded them of Yah’s faithfulness, even in the details.

The journey to the land the following day was nothing short of breathtaking. As they traveled through Northern Arizona, Yah’s handiwork was on full display. Though the region seemed desolate at first glance, its quiet, rugged beauty captivated their hearts. Along the way, they stopped in nearby towns, visiting local markets, dining establishments, and supply stores for hardware, sustainability tools, and housing materials. Every step felt divinely aligned, from warm, welcoming, and kind interactions, to finding resources, to hearing the testimony of another covenant believer who shared their faith and calling to northern Arizona.

Finally, arriving at the N.A.W.A. land was a moment to behold. Over 60 sprawling acres awaited them, adorned with tall juniper trees, a playful rabbit darting through the meadows, panoramic mountain views, and a stillness that spoke of peace and promise.

Though walking the entire property was a challenge with an expectant wife, they could already envision the endless possibilities: a sanctuary for faith, growth, and service; a community designed to thrive together and inspire others to prepare for the times ahead.
This trip was more than a visit—it was a mission. Pastor Cherry laid hands on the land, reclaimed the territory, and confirmed the vision Yah has set before them.

The peace and beauty of the land affirmed their purpose and strengthened their resolve to follow His plan with eagerness and motivation.

Stay tuned, family, for more updates as Yah continues to make provision for His vision. The work has just begun, but we know the best is yet to come.
Shalawam, family!
